Leah Rowe, a founder of the Libreboot distribution and a well-known advocate for minority rights, has publicly defended Richard Stallman against recent attacks, despite past conflicts with the Free Software Foundation and Stallman himself. Rowe believes that the orchestrated witch hunt is led by those ideologically opposed to free software and is aimed not only at Stallman but at the entire free software movement and the FSF in particular.
According to Leah, true social justice is about treating a person with dignity, rather than attempting to erase them simply for their beliefs. In her message, she also refutes criticisms regarding sexism and transphobia against Stallman with personal examples, suggesting that the recent attacks are nothing more than an infiltration attempt to bring the FSF under the control of large corporations, similar to what has already happened with OSI and the Linux Foundation.
Meanwhile, the number of signatories for the open letter supporting Stallman has reached 4,660, while the letter against Stallman has garnered 2,984 signatures.
