December 6 saw the release of version 3.28 of the cross-platform build system CMake, written in C++ and distributed under the BSD-3 license.
Főbb változások listája:
- Improved support for C++20 modules in Ninja and Visual Studio (VS 2022 and newer). Details in cmake-cxxmodules(7);
- HIP language code for NVIDIA GPUs can now be compiled with the nvcc (NVIDIA CUDA Compiler). Details in the description of the CMAKE_HIP_PLATFORM variable;
- The exec_program() command, which was deprecated in CMake 3.0, has been removed. Instead, use execute_process();
- Generated files in target configurations using file sets are now considered private by default. Generated public header files must be specified using file sets. This allows for creating more efficient build graphs for Ninja. Details in policy CMP0154;
- The find_library(), find_path(), and find_file() commands no longer search in installation prefixes obtained from the PATH environment variable. This behavior was added in CMake 3.3 to support MSYS and MinGW development environments ('MSYSTEM') on Windows and could potentially search unwanted prefixes that accidentally appeared in the PATH for any reason.
- Support for .xcframework directories for Apple platforms has been added.
