A Fedora Linux release preparation team announced the final stage of the project's migration from its own Pagure platform to a new collaborative development system built on the Forgejo project. In late September, a development service called Fedora Forge was launched in a testing mode on Forgejo for working with code and issue tracking. The transfer of all open and closed issues from Pagure to the new service is scheduled for November 18, alongside the deactivation of access to the old error tracking interface.
Thus, after November 18, all issues related to releases and their preparation will only be available for publication through Forgejo. The migration will also affect the main RelEng repository, which had already been mirrored in Forgejo. Following this, the remaining repositories such as faint and composes will be transferred. The reason for the platform change is mentioned as Pagure requiring significant resources for maintenance, being in a state of stagnation, and not having gained widespread adoption outside of Fedora.
A Forgejo platform a Gitea projekt forkja, amely viszont a Gogs platformtól származik. A Forgejo kulcsfontosságú jellemzői közé tartozik az alacsony erőforrás-felhasználás (olcsó hostokon is működtethető). VPS) és egyszerű telepítési folyamat. A projektek kezelésére vonatkozó tipikus lehetőségek biztosítva vannak, mint például feladatkezelés, problémakövetés, pull-kérések, wiki, fejlesztői csoportok koordinálására szolgáló eszközök, kiadások előkészítése, csomagok automatikus elhelyezése a tárolókban, hozzáférési jogok kezelése, folyamatos integrációs platformok összekapcsolása, kódkeresés, LDAP és OAuth keresztüli hitelesítés, SSH és HTTP/HTTPS protokollok szerinti hozzáférés a tárolókhoz, webhookok csatlakoztatása integrációhoz Slack, Discord és más szolgáltatásokkal, Git-hook támogatás és Git LFS, tárolók migrálására és tükörszerverezésére szolgáló eszközök.
