A «Kommersant» report citing its sources stated that the Apple TV+ streaming service, as could be expected based on advertising materials, will not have a Russian dubbing. Russian subscribers to the service, which will launch on November 1, can only expect localization in the form of subtitles. Apple itself has not specified on this matter yet, but all trailers in English with Russian subtitles.

Representatives of Russian competing video services believe that the absence of dubbing or at least voice-over translation means that Apple is not yet expecting a wide audience in Russia. The competitive advantages include Apple TV+ being tied to Apple devices (however, subscribers through the service's website will be able to watch all content on any device with a browser).

Recall: the Apple TV+ service will launch in over a hundred countries, offering completely original content in the form of series, films, and cartoons without advertising. The monthly subscription price will be 199 rubles, and a 7-day free trial period and family access to materials for six users will be provided. When purchasing new devices such as iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, or Apple TV, users receive a free one-year subscription to Apple TV+.

Currently, Russian online theaters like ivi, tvzavr, Premier, «Amediateka», Okko, or Megogo usually acquire films with dubbing or themselves order Russian dubbing when purchasing popular shows from rights holders. In the latter case, «Kommersant» reports that the dubbing of a popular series released in Russia simultaneously with the USA can cost about €300 per minute. For example, two-voice voice-over from English costs in Russia from 200–300 ₽ per minute, full dubbing costs 890–1300 ₽ per minute, and creating subtitles costs 100–200 ₽ per minute.
