A Bcachefs fájlrendszerében megvalósították az önjavítás lehetőségét redundáns kódok révén

Kent Overstreet, a developer of the Bcachefs file system, proposed an inclusion in the Linux 6.11 kernel modification that implements the capability of automatic transparent recovery of problematic data in the Bcachefs file system, using stored redundant error recovery codes. The logic of the proposed functionality resembles the implementation of a similar feature in Btrfs: if an I/O error occurs during reading or a checksum mismatch is detected, the problematic data block will be automatically rewritten, provided there is redundancy available for its recovery.

Linus Torvalds postponed the acceptance of this change into the 6.11 kernel due to patch formatting issues (a 'git rebase' was performed on a new branch, which was unnecessary) and the presence of unanswered questions regarding the changes introduced by the patches in the area beyond fs/bcachefs.
