Laura Chambers, a recently appointed CEO of Mozilla Corporation, announced the appointment of developers to implement the tab grouping feature in Firefox. The work on adding tab grouping support has been given a high priority.
The decision was made after yet another user tried to bring attention to the fact that Mozilla spends significant resources on questionable functionalities, such as integrating AI tools into the browser, while ignoring truly important features like tab grouping, which around 3000 users voted for and which leads on the Firefox feature request site. It is noted that competing browsers like Chrome, Edge, and Vivaldi have long supported tab grouping, which is a significant competitive advantage.
