A Firefox nightly builds, which will form the release of Firefox 134 on January 7, has begun testing an updated address bar that incorporates a button for selecting a search engine, similar to the button in the menu of a separate search bar added to the panel. In addition to the ability to quickly send a query to the desired search engine, the new button menu that appears when clicked also provides options for navigating to the browsing history, reviewing open tabs, or navigating through saved bookmarks.

In the drop-down menu that appears after focusing on an empty address bar, not only a selection of recommended and previously opened pages is shown, but also a list of recently performed search queries, allowing for quick corrections or repetition in another search engine. The drop-down menu also displays buttons for performing additional actions, such as printing the page or switching to another tab.

The ability to select the search area is provided using control tags such as @bookmarks, @tabs, @history, and @actions. When entering the '@' character, a suggestion for available tags appears.

When opening websites over HTTP without an encrypted communication channel, in addition to the icon with a crossed-out lock, the text 'Not Secure' is now displayed.
