When using WebRender instead of the native compositing system built into the Gecko engine, which processes data using the CPU, shaders executed on the GPU are used for composite rendering operations of page elements, allowing for a significant increase in rendering speed and reducing CPU load.
In stable releases, WebRender is currently enabled only for Windows 10 platforms with AMD and NVIDIA graphics cards. You can check the activation of WebRender on the about:support page. To force activation in about:config, you need to enable the settings "gfx.webrender.all" and "gfx.webrender.enabled", or by launching Firefox with the environment variable MOZ_WEBRENDER=1.
