A Windows 10-et okostelefonon indították el, de csak részben

A Windows 10 launch marathon on various devices continues. This time, enthusiast Bas Timmer from the Netherlands, known by the nickname NTAuthority, succeeded in running the desktop OS on the OnePlus 6T smartphone. Of course, this is about the edition for ARM processors.

The specialist described his developments on Twitter, posting brief messages with photos and videos. He noted that he was able to install and even start the system, although it eventually crashed into a 'blue screen of death.' NTAuthority jokingly referred to his OnePlus 6T as the 🙁 Edition.

After the initial failure, Timmer managed to run the Windows command line on the smartphone. The enthusiast noted that Windows 10 recognizes input from the touchscreen. This is possible due to the Samsung AMOLED display with a Synaptics controller, which is also found in the touchpads of many laptops currently on the market. In other words, the system is quite capable of 'understanding' touchscreen input.

It remains unclear how much time will be needed for a more or less complete launch of 'the tenth' on the smartphone, but the very fact of such a possibility indicates that questions of this nature can be resolved. Naturally, proper drivers will be required for all devices, and the software will likely experience delays, given that not all software has yet been written for ARM. But the groundwork has already been laid.

It should be noted that previously another enthusiast managed to run a desktop operating system on the Google-developed Pixel 3 XL smartphone.
