A RPM4 projektet a Red Hat fejleszti, \u00e9s olyan disztrib\u00faci\u00f3kban haszn\u00e1lj\u00e1k, mint a RHEL (bele\u00e9rtve a CentOS, Scientific Linux, AsiaLinux, Red Flag Linux, Oracle Linux sz\u00e1rmaz\u00e9kait), Fedora, SUSE, openSUSE, ALT Linux, OpenMandriva, Mageia, PCLinuxOS, Tizen \u00e9s m\u00e9g sok m\u00e1s. Kor\u00e1bban egy f\u00fcggetlen fejleszt\u0151csapat dolgozott az RPM5 projekten, amely k\u00f6zvetlen\u00fcl nem kapcsol\u00f3dik az RPM4-hez, \u00e9s jelenleg elhagyatott (2010 \u00f3ta nem friss\u00edtett\u00e9k).
