Schleswig-Holstein, a region in northern Germany, plans to move all government employees' computers, including teachers in schools, to open-source software as part of an initiative to eliminate dependence on a single provider. In the first phase, by the end of 2026, they plan to replace MS Office with LibreOffice, and later switch from Windows to Linux. The migration will affect about 25,000 computers in various government institutions and will be conducted considering the issues that arose during the transition to Linux in the municipal offices of Munich. <\/p>\n
