A QEMU virtualiz\u00e1l\u00e1si m\u00f3dban a k\u00f3d v\u00e9grehajt\u00e1s\u00e1nak teljes\u00edtm\u00e9nye elszigetelt k\u00f6rnyezetben k\u00f6zel \u00e1ll a hardveres rendszerekhez, a CPU utas\u00edt\u00e1sainak k\u00f6zvetlen v\u00e9grehajt\u00e1sa \u00e9s a Xen hypervisor vagy a KVM modul alkalmaz\u00e1s\u00e1val Linuxban, illetve a NVMM modul haszn\u00e1lat\u00e1val NetBSD alatt.    <\/p>\n<p>A projektet Fabrice Bellard ind\u00edtotta el, hogy lehet\u0151v\u00e9 tegye az x86 architekt\u00far\u00e1ra \u00f6ssze\u00e1ll\u00edtott Linux futtathat\u00f3 f\u00e1jlok ind\u00edt\u00e1s\u00e1t olyan architekt\u00far\u00e1kon, amelyek elt\u00e9rnek az x86-t\u00f3l. A fejleszt\u00e9s \u00e9vei alatt 14 hardverarchitekt\u00fara teljes emul\u00e1ci\u00f3s t\u00e1mogat\u00e1sa hozz\u00e1ad\u00e1sra ker\u00fclt, a t\u00e1mogatott emul\u00e1lt hardvereszk\u00f6z\u00f6k sz\u00e1ma meghaladta a 400-at.
