A Microsoft-owned social network LinkedIn has reported the migration of most servers, virtual machines, and containers from CentOS to the Azure Linux distribution. Alongside addressing the support termination issue of the CentOS 7 branch during the migration process, enhancements in infrastructure security, cost reduction, increased setup flexibility, and simplification of new feature implementation based on machine learning components were also achieved.

Among the solutions adopted during the migration, the utilization of the XFS file system and software RAID, which demonstrated optimal performance for most applications used in LinkedIn, is noteworthy. In addition, szerverek Azure Linux is also used in virtual machines with a developer environment equipped with a graphical interface (Developer Desktop VM) and is accessible for remote connections via RDP or SSH. Initially, Azure Linux is not designed for providing a desktop environment, but LinkedIn has established that the same operating system is used in development environments as in workstations. szerverekenThe restriction was circumvented by organizing remote access to the integrated development environments used in the company.
