Troy Hunt, a creator of the compromised password checking service 'Have I Been Pwned' (haveibeenpwned.com), received information about a data leak from the Internet Archive (archive.org), which maintains an archive of website states and the largest digital content library. The attackers provided Troy with an SQL dump that includes accounts of 31 million users from archive.org. Additionally, a JavaScript code was injected into the archive.org site, displaying a pop-up window with information about the breach.

Le dump SQL du service occup\u00e9 plus de 6 Go et comprend notamment des hachages de mots de passe d'utilisateurs au format bcrypt, des timestamps de modification de mot de passe, des adresses email et des noms d'utilisateur. L'enregistrement le plus r\u00e9cent dans la base de donn\u00e9es date du 28 septembre. <\/p>\n

La pertinence de la base de donn\u00e9es a \u00e9t\u00e9 confirm\u00e9e par le chercheur en s\u00e9curit\u00e9 bien connu Scott Helme, dont le hachage de mot de passe et le timestamp de modification correspondaient aux donn\u00e9es de son gestionnaire de mots de passe. On peut v\u00e9rifier la compromission de ses comptes via le service haveibeenpwned.com, qui a d\u00e9j\u00e0 int\u00e9gr\u00e9 les informations de la base de donn\u00e9es fuite d'archive.org. En g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, la v\u00e9rification sur haveibeenpwned.com couvre 14 milliards de mots de passe et inclut des informations sur les violations de 817 sites.
