A v\u00e9grehajtott t\u00e1mad\u00e1s lehet\u0151v\u00e9 tette a t\u00e1mad\u00f3k sz\u00e1m\u00e1ra, hogy megszerezz\u00e9k az NPM-tokeneket egy nagyobb JavaScript projekt k\u00eds\u00e9r\u0151j\u00e9t\u0151l, \u00e9s rosszindulat\u00fa k\u00f3dot tartalmaz\u00f3 friss\u00edt\u00e9seket adjanak ki \u00f6t NPM-csomaghoz, amelyek \u00f6sszesen k\u00f6r\u00fclbel\u00fcl 100 milli\u00f3 let\u00f6lt\u00e9st jelentenek hetente.       <\/p>\n<p>A k\u00eds\u00e9r\u0151 \u00fczenet a tipikus NPM \u00e9rtes\u00edt\u00e9sek st\u00edlus\u00e1ban k\u00e9sz\u00fclt, amelyeket a &#171;support@npmjs.org&#187; c\u00edmr\u0151l k\u00fcldenek, de a link c\u00edme a &#171;npnjs.com&#187; domaint tartalmazta a &#171;npmjs.com&#187; helyett (a harmadik bet\u0171 &#171;n&#187; az &#171;m&#187; helyett). A t\u00e1mad\u00f3k a pszichol\u00f3giai hat\u00e1st haszn\u00e1lt\u00e1k ki, amely miatt az agy, el\u0151re v\u00e1rva az eredm\u00e9nyt, nem vesz \u00e9szre apr\u00f3 elt\u00e9r\u00e9seket, p\u00e9ld\u00e1ul hasonl\u00f3 bet\u0171k cser\u00e9j\u00e9t vagy a bet\u0171k sorrendj\u00e9nek megv\u00e1ltoztat\u00e1s\u00e1t a sz\u00f3ban.
