The impact of digital technologies on the economy is growing, with increased data processing volumes and the construction of new facilities, which is positive as long as everything works. Unfortunately, the impact of data center failures on the economy has also increased since businesses began placing critical IT infrastructure within them \u2014 a necessary consequence of digitalization. We publish a small selection of the most notable accidents that occurred in different countries last year.<\/p>\n

In September, weather anomalies hit Microsoft data centers located in Texas, where a storm disrupted the power supply system of an entire region, and in a data center switched to backup power, cooling unexpectedly shut down. It took several days to fix the aftermath of the incident, and although this disruption was not critical thanks to load balancing, some Microsoft cloud service users noticed a slowdown worldwide.<\/p>\n

The most serious incident occurred on August 20 at one of the Rostelecom data centers. As a result, the servers of the Unified State Register of Real Estate were down for 66 hours, necessitating their transfer to a backup location. The Rosreestr agency was only able to restore processing of incoming applications from all channels by September 3 \u2014 the government organization is attempting to claim a large amount from Rostelecom for violating the service level agreement. <\/p>\n

M\u00e1rciusban a KLM l\u00e9git\u00e1rsas\u00e1g adatk\u00f6zpontj\u00e1ban \u00e1ramkimarad\u00e1s l\u00e9pett fel: 10 percre megsz\u0171nt az \u00e1ramell\u00e1t\u00e1s, \u00e9s a d\u00edzelgener\u00e1torok teljes\u00edtm\u00e9nye nem volt elegend\u0151 a berendez\u00e9sek m\u0171k\u00f6d\u00e9s\u00e9hez.
