A projektet a cseh n\u00e9vregisztr\u00e1tor, a CZ.NIC fejleszti, C nyelven \u00edr\u00f3dott \u00e9s <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/CZ-NIC\/knot\">terjeszt\u00e9sre ker\u00fcl<\/a><\/noindex> GPLv3 licenc alatt \u00e1ll. <\/p>\n<p>A KnotDNS a k\u00e9r\u00e9sfeldolgoz\u00e1s magas teljes\u00edtm\u00e9ny\u00e9re \u00f6sszpontos\u00edt, ez\u00e9rt soksz\u00e1las, t\u00f6bbnyire nem blokkol\u00f3 megval\u00f3s\u00edt\u00e1st alkalmaz, amely j\u00f3l sk\u00e1l\u00e1zhat\u00f3 SMP rendszereken.
