Why DNA storage is being developed by<\/h2>\n

Another reason why experts consider DNA storage promising is the steadily decreasing cost of writing data to this medium. If in 2002 the cost of recording one character in a molecule was $10, by 2016 it had dropped to $0.05. If this trend continues over the next decade, the technology will pave the way for a new niche in the data storage market. Who is creating DNA storage<\/h2>\n

Another company developing DNA storage is called Catalog. This startup is working on creating<\/a><\/noindex> a modular laboratory the size of a bus. It will be fully equipped with everything necessary for synthesizing DNA molecules and their subsequent storage. The installation is planned to be sold starting in 2021.<\/p>\n

The technology is also of interest to bioengineers.
