A v\u00e9delmet szigor\u00fa param\u00e9ter-ellen\u0151rz\u00e9sek, a pufferek hat\u00e1rainak betart\u00e1s\u00e1nak ellen\u0151rz\u00e9s\u00e9re szolg\u00e1l\u00f3 eszk\u00f6z\u00f6k, privil\u00e9giumok elk\u00fcl\u00f6n\u00edt\u00e9se \u00e9s a rendszerh\u00edv\u00e1sokhoz val\u00f3 hozz\u00e1f\u00e9r\u00e9s korl\u00e1toz\u00e1sa alkalmaz\u00e1s\u00e1val biztos\u00edtj\u00e1k. Az el\u0151ny\u00f6k k\u00f6z\u00f6tt eml\u00edtend\u0151 a konfigur\u00e1ci\u00f3s nyelv k\u00e9nyelmes szintaxisa, a magas teljes\u00edtm\u00e9ny \u00e9s a mem\u00f3riahat\u00e9kony m\u0171k\u00f6d\u00e9s (p\u00e9ld\u00e1ul az OpenBGPD k\u00e9pes t\u00f6bb sz\u00e1zezer bejegyz\u00e9st tartalmaz\u00f3 \u00fatv\u00e1laszt\u00e1si t\u00e1bl\u00e1kkal dolgozni). A projekt a BGP 4 specifik\u00e1ci\u00f3k nagy r\u00e9sz\u00e9t t\u00e1mogatja \u00e9s megfelel az RFC8212 k\u00f6vetelm\u00e9nyeinek, de nem pr\u00f3b\u00e1l mindent mag\u00e1ba foglalni; f\u0151leg a legkeresettebb \u00e9s legelterjedtebb funkci\u00f3kat t\u00e1mogatja.<\/p>\n<p>Az OpenBGPD 6.6 kiad\u00e1sban a k\u00f6vetkez\u0151 fejleszt\u00e9sek ker\u00fcltek bevezet\u00e9sre:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li
