In Mozilla the testing phase for DNS over HTTPS (DoH) support and intends to launch the feature in the USA by the end of the month. Once fully launched, the possibility of rolling out the protocol to other countries will be considered.
This technology allows for the encryption of DNS traffic, although users will have the option to disable it in the browser and revert to standard DNS queries. Users of parental control systems and corporate networks are likely to do this due to their existing checks that automatically disable DoH.
Such technology can be useful for protecting against data leaks through provider DNS servers.
