Proposto per il testing, il candidato alle release della distribuzione openSUSE Leap 15.3 \u00e8 stato costruito sulla base del set di pacchetti della distribuzione SUSE Linux Enterprise con alcune applicazioni personalizzate dal repository openSUSE Tumbleweed. \u00c8 disponibile per il download un'immagine DVD universale di 4,3 GB (x86_64, aarch64, ppc64les, 390x). Il rilascio di openSUSE Leap 15.3 \u00e8 programmato per il 2 giugno 2021. <\/p>\n

A differenza delle versioni precedenti di openSUSE Leap, la versione 15.3 \u00e8 costruita non attraverso la ricompilazione dei pacchetti sorgente di SUSE Linux Enterprise, ma utilizzando un'unica serie di pacchetti binari in comune con SUSE Linux Enterprise 15 SP 3. Si prevede che l'uso degli stessi pacchetti binari in SUSE e openSUSE semplifichi la migrazione da una distribuzione all'altra, riduca le risorse necessarie per la costruzione dei pacchetti, la distribuzione delle aggiornamenti e il testing, unifichi le differenze nei file .spec e consenta di abbandonare la diagnosi di diverse costruzioni dei pacchetti durante l'analisi dei messaggi di errore. <\/p>\n

Tra le modifiche funzionali nel nuovo rilascio, si segnalano l'aggiornamento del desktop Xfce 4.16 e del pacchetto office LibreOffice 7.1.1. Sono stati segnalati piccoli aggiustamenti per il kernel Linux 5.3.18, systemd 246, Mesa 20.2.4, KDE Plasma 5.18 LTS, KDE Applications 20.04.2 e GNOME 3.34. Sono stati forniti nuovi pacchetti per i ricercatori nel campo dell'apprendimento automatico: TensorFlow Lite 2020.08.23, PyTorch 1.4.0, ONNX 1.6.0, Grafana 7.3.1. Sono stati aggiornati gli strumenti per i container isolati: Podman 2.1.1-4.28.1, CRI-O 1.17.3, containerd 1.3.9-5.29.3, kubeadm 1.18.4. Tra gli strumenti per gli sviluppatori, sono stati proposti Go 1.15, Perl 5.26.1, PHP 7.4.6, Python 3.6.12, Ruby 2.5, Rust 1.43.1.
