Quest'anno si celebra il 50\u00b0 rilascio del progetto, che compie 26 anni. OpenBSD \u00e8 stato fondato da Theo de Raadt nel 1995 dopo un conflitto con gli sviluppatori di NetBSD, che ha portato alla chiusura dell'accesso di Theo al repository CVS di NetBSD. Successivamente, Theo de Raadt e un gruppo di sostenitori hanno creato un nuovo sistema operativo open source basato sui sorgenti di NetBSD, i cui principali obiettivi di sviluppo sono stati la portabilit\u00e0 (supporto per 13 piattaforme hardware), la standardizzazione, la corretta funzionalit\u00e0, la sicurezza attiva e strumenti crittografici integrati. La dimensione dell'immagine ISO completa per l'installazione di base di OpenBSD 6.9 \u00e8 di 544 MB.       <\/p>\n<p>Oltre al sistema operativo stesso, il progetto OpenBSD \u00e8 noto per i suoi componenti, che sono stati adottati in altri sistemi e si sono affermati come alcune delle soluzioni pi\u00f9 sicure e di qualit\u00e0. Rispetto alla versione precedente, per powerpc64 \u00e8 stato implementato il supporto per il meccanismo di protezione RETGUARD, aggiunto il driver astfb per il framebuffer Aspeed BMC, risolti i problemi con i driver radeondrm e amdgpu sui sistemi con GPU AMD, \u00e8 stata aggiunta la possibilit\u00e0 di avvio di rete nei kernel per la RAM disk, implementato il supporto per le modalit\u00e0 di risparmio energetico CPU POWER9 e aggiunto il supporto per le eccezioni generate durante le operazioni in virgola mobile, implementato il supporto IPMI per i sistemi PowerNV.\n<li class=\"l\"> Per le piattaforme ARM64 \u00e8 stata aggiunta la supporto per CPU Cortex-A78AE, Cortex-X1 e Neoverse V1, sono state implementate varianti ottimizzate per ARM64 delle chiamate copyin, copyout e kcopy, \u00e8 stato aggiunto il driver cryptox per supportare le estensioni crittografiche ARMv8, oltre al driver smmu per RM System MMU con supporto per Guard Page. Nella parte backend per la gestione delle macchine virtuali vmd \u00e8 stato aggiunto il supporto per l'avvio da dischi RAM compressi.\n<li class=\"l\"> Miglioramenti apportati al sottosistema audio. \u00c8 stata fornita la possibilit\u00e0 di ancorare separatamente i dispositivi audio sndio solo per la riproduzione e solo per la registrazione. In sndiod \u00e8 stato utilizzato un filtro a bassa frequenza con risposta all'impulso finale (Filtro IIR) di ottavo ordine, che ha consentito di eliminare i rumori dovuti alla sovrapposizione degli spettri durante il ri-campionamento. Per impostazione predefinita, \u00e8 stata disabilitata la funzione di riduzione automatica del volume quando un nuovo programma inizia a riprodurre (autovolume), il livello di volume predefinito \u00e8 stato impostato su 127. \u00c8 consentito il mixing del suono da dispositivi alternativi con diverse funzionalit\u00e0 supportate in sndiod.\n<li class=\"l\"> La compilazione e l'installazione del debugger LLDB sono abilitate per impostazione predefinita.\n<li class=\"l\"> In rcctl, rc.subr e rc.d \u00e8 stata aggiunta la supporto per il gestore di logger, che consente di organizzare l'uscita dei log dai processi in background, inviando dati a stdout\/stderr.\n<li class=\"l\"> Per i touchpad \u00e8 fornita la possibilit\u00e0 di configurare il layout dei pulsanti tramite wsconsctl. In wscons \u00e8 migliorato il trattamento dei tocchi simultanei.\n<li class=\"l\"> Per i dispositivi ARM64 \u00e8 stata implementata la possibilit\u00e0 di utilizzare APM per ottenere dati sul consumo energetico e sullo stato della batteria. Per limitare l'accesso del processo apmd al file system \u00e8 stata utilizzata la chiamata unveil.\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00c8 stata ampliata la supporto hardware. Sono stati aggiunti nuovi driver acpige (per la gestione degli eventi ACPI, come la pressione del pulsante di accensione), pchgpio (per i controller GPIO dotati di moderni Intel PCH), ujoy (per i controller di gioco), uhidpp (per i dispositivi Logitech HID++). \u00c8 stata aggiunta la supporto per AMD Vi ed Intel VTD IOMMU per l'isolamento dei dispositivi PCI e il blocco dell'accesso non autorizzato alla memoria. \u00c8 stata aggiunta la supporto per i computer Lynloong LM9002\/9003 e LM9013. Nei driver pcamux e imxiic \u00e8 stata aggiunta la supporto ACPI.\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00c8 stata migliorata la supporto per gli adattatori di rete: mvpp (SFP+ e 10G per Marvel Armada Ethernet), mvneta (1000base-x e 2500base-x), mvsw (switch Marvel SOHO), rge (supporto Wake on LAN), Netgear ProSecure UTM25. Per i driver wireless iwm, iwn e athn \u00e8 stata aggiunta la supporto RA (adattamento della velocit\u00e0 di trasmissione 802.11n).
