OpenIndiana fornisce all'utente un ambiente di lavoro costruito su un nuovo taglio del codice sorgente del progetto Illumos. Lo sviluppo delle tecnologie OpenSolaris continua attraverso il progetto Illumos, dove vengono sviluppati il nucleo, lo stack di rete, i file system, i driver, cos\u00ec come un insieme di utility di sistema e librerie per l'utente. Sono stati creati tre tipi di immagini ISO per il download: edizione server con applicazioni da console (877 MB), build minima (345 MB) e build con ambiente grafico MATE (1.6 GB).      <\/p>\n<p>Principali novit\u00e0 in OpenIndiana 2021.04:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Sono disponibili diverse opzioni di driver proprietari NVIDIA: 460.67, 390.141 (di default), 340.108.\n<li class=\"l\"> I compilatori gcc-7, gcc-8, gcc-9 e gcc-10 sono stati compilati utilizzando il meccanismo SSP (Stack Smashing Protection) per proteggere lo stack (-fstack-protector).\n<li class=\"l\"> La libreria OpenSSL \u00e8 stata aggiornata alla versione 1.1.1.\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00c8 iniziato il processo di aggiornamento delle versioni di Python e dei relativi pacchetti.
