Nel nuovo rilascio \u00e8 stato aggiunto il supporto iniziale per i multi-volume, permettendo di unire in un'unica partizione pi\u00f9 dischi locali (la modalit\u00e0 di rete multi-master non \u00e8 ancora supportata). \u00c8 stata implementata la possibilit\u00e0 di aumentare le dimensioni della partizione (aggiunto il comando hammer2 growfs). Sono stati risolti problemi significativi di deduplica.\n<li class=\"l\"> Le prestazioni del file system tmpfs sono state notevolmente migliorate. \u00c8 stata aggiunta l'utilit\u00e0 mounttmpfs per semplificare la collocazione di \/tmp e \/var\/run in tmpfs.\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00c8 stata aggiunta l'implementazione del file system Ext2, in cui non \u00e8 presente codice sotto licenza GPL.\n<li class=\"l\"> Sono state apportate significative modifiche al sistema di memoria virtuale, inclusa la rimozione del supporto MAP_VPAGETABLE mmap(), necessario per il funzionamento di vkernell (nuclei virtuali eseguiti come processo utente). Nella prossima versione \u00e8 prevista la restituzione di vkernel, riprogettata sulla base di HVM.\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00c8 stata rimodellata l'implementazione delle chiamate callout*().\n<li class=\"l\"> Migliorato il supporto per il framebuffer EFI.\n<li class=\"l\"> Nel driver sysmouse \u00e8 stato aggiunto il supporto per evdev.\n<li class=\"l\"> Aggiunte le chiamate clock_nanosleep, fexecve, getaddrinfo e timeout. Implementato il supporto fcntl(F_GETPATH) e i flag IP_SENDSRCADDR e SO_PASSCRED.\n<li class=\"l\"> Nel kernel \u00e8 stata aggiunta la sottosistema kmalloc_obj, che consente di ridurre la frammentazione della memoria.\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00c8 stato trasferito da FreeBSD il supporto per il driver amdsmn per la sottosistema SMN (System Management Network) dei processori AMD.\n<li class=\"l\"> In devd \u00e8 stato garantito il riconoscimento automatico degli adattatori wireless e la creazione di interfacce di rete wlanX per essi.\n<li class=\"l\"> Il tipo sysclock_t \u00e8 stato convertito da un valore a 32 bit a uno a 64 bit.\n<li class=\"l\"> Ottimizzata la catena di avvio delle chiamate di sistema.\n<li class=\"l\"> Ottimizzate le prestazioni in condizioni di scarsit\u00e0 di memoria.\n<li class=\"l\"> Significativamente riprogettato il meccanismo degli ambienti isolati Jail. Ristrutturati i parametri sysctl jail.*.\n<li class=\"l\"> Aggiunto il supporto per i controller Ethernet Intel I219 e ampliato il supporto per i chip Realtek. Nel driver bnx \u00e8 stato aggiunto il supporto per i chip Broadcom NetXtreme 57764, 57767 e 57787.\n<li class=\"l\"> Nel stack di rete \u00e8 stato aggiunto il supporto per la famiglia di indirizzi AF_ARP, che rappresenta gli indirizzi ARP.\n<li class=\"l\"> I componenti dell'interfaccia DRM (Direct Rendering Manager) sono stati sincronizzati con il kernel Linux 4.10.17.
