L'organizzazione OpenPOWER Foundation ha annunciato un nuovo progetto, LibreBMC, mirato alla creazione di un controllore BMC (Baseboard Management Controller) completamente aperto per server utilizzati nei centri di elaborazione dati. LibreBMC si svilupper\u00e0 come un progetto collaborativo, a cui hanno gi\u00e0 aderito aziende come Google, IBM, Antmicro, Yadro e Raptor Computing Systems. <\/p>\n

Il BMC \u00e8 un controllore specializzato installato nei server, dotato di CPU, memoria, storage e interfacce per il polling dei sensori, che fornisce un'interfaccia a basso livello per il monitoraggio e la gestione dell'hardware del server.
