Nel toolkit per l'esecuzione di contenitori isolati runc, utilizzato in Docker e Kubernetes, \u00e8 stata trovata una vulnerabilit\u00e0 (CVE-2021-30465) che consente di accedere dal contenitore al filesystem principale dell'ambiente host. Attraverso manipolazioni con i collegamenti simbolici, \u00e8 possibile preparare una configurazione del contenitore apparentemente innocua, che porter\u00e0 al bind-mounting di un filesystem esterno all'interno del contenitore. Il problema \u00e8 stato risolto nell'aggiornamento runc 1.0.0-rc95. <\/p>\n

Per sfruttare la vulnerabilit\u00e0, un attaccante deve avere la possibilit\u00e0 di avviare contenitori con punti di montaggio aggiuntivi nella configurazione (ad esempio, il problema si verifica in ambienti basati su Kubernetes, dove gli utenti possono avviare i propri contenitori). A causa della presenza di una finestra temporale tra il controllo e l'utilizzo dei punti di montaggio per le partizioni condivise con altri contenitori, l'attaccante pu\u00f2 approfittare della condizione di gara durante l'avvio del contenitore e sostituire il percorso utilizzato per il montaggio nel contenitore con un collegamento simbolico a un'area al di fuori della radice del filesystem del contenitore.
