Oracle ha pubblicato il rilascio della distribuzione Oracle Linux 8.4, basata sulla base della distribuzione Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4. \u00c8 disponibile per il download senza restrizioni un'immagine ISO di installazione di 8,6 GB, preparata per le architetture x86_64 e ARM64 (aarch64). Oracle Linux offre accesso illimitato e gratuito al repository yum con aggiornamenti binari dei pacchetti contenenti correzioni di bug (errata) e problemi di sicurezza. Sono inoltre disponibili moduli Application Stream supportati separatamente per il download. <\/p>\n

Oltre al pacchetto kernel fornito con RHEL (basato sul kernel 4.18), Oracle Linux offre il proprio kernel Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel 6, basato sul kernel Linux 5.4 e ottimizzato per funzionare con software e hardware industriali Oracle. I codici sorgente del kernel, comprese le separazioni in patch individuali, sono disponibili nel repository Git pubblico di Oracle.
