Dopo il passaggio all'uso di HTTPS di default nella barra degli indirizzi del browser Chrome, \u00e8 stata aggiunta un'impostazione che forza l'uso di HTTPS per tutte le richieste ai siti, inclusi i link diretti. Quando questa nuova modalit\u00e0 \u00e8 attivata, un tentativo di aprire una pagina con «http:\/\/» porter\u00e0 automaticamente il browser a cercare di aprire prima la risorsa tramite «https:\/\/», e se il tentativo non va a buon fine, verr\u00e0 mostrato un avviso con la proposta di visitare il sito senza crittografia. Lo scorso anno, una funzionalit\u00e0 simile \u00e8 stata aggiunta in Firefox 83. <\/p>\n

Per attivare la nuova funzione in Chrome, \u00e8 necessario impostare il flag «chrome:\/\/flags\/#https-only-mode-setting», dopodich\u00e9 nelle impostazioni, nella sezione «Impostazioni > Privacy e Sicurezza > Sicurezza» apparir\u00e0 un interruttore «Usa sempre connessioni sicure». La funzionalit\u00e0 necessaria \u00e8 stata aggiunta nel ramo sperimentale di Chrome Canary ed \u00e8 disponibile a partire dalla build 93.0.4558.0.
