Nella versione predefinita del firmware InfiniTime viene utilizzato il sistema operativo in tempo reale FreeRTOS 10, la libreria grafica LittleVGL 7 e lo stack Bluetooth NimBLE 1.3.0. Il bootloader del firmware \u00e8 basato su MCUBoot. Il firmware pu\u00f2 essere aggiornato tramite aggiornamenti OTA inviati da uno smartphone tramite Bluetooth LE. <\/p>\n

Il codice dell'interfaccia utente \u00e8 scritto in C++ e include funzionalit\u00e0 come orologi (digitali, analogici), tracker fitness (misuratore di frequenza cardiaca e contapassi), visualizzazione delle notifiche di eventi dallo smartphone, torcia, controllo della riproduzione musicale sullo smartphone, visualizzazione delle istruzioni del navigatore, cronometro e due semplici giochi (Paddle e 2048). Tramite le impostazioni \u00e8 possibile definire il tempo di spegnimento del display, il formato dell'ora, le condizioni di risveglio, modificare la luminosit\u00e0 dello schermo, controllare la carica della batteria e la versione del firmware. <\/p>\n

Sullo smartphone e sul computer, per gestire gli orologi possono essere utilizzate le applicazioni Gadgetbridge (per Android), Amazfish (per Sailfish e Linux) e Siglo (per Linux). \u00c8 disponibile il supporto sperimentale per WebBLEWatch, un'app web per la sincronizzazione degli orologi dai browser che supportano l'API Web Bluetooth. <\/p>\n

Inoltre, per PineTime, gli appassionati hanno preparato un nuovo firmware alternativo Malila, basato su RIOT OS, dotato di un'interfaccia in stile GNOME (font Cantarell, icone e stile GNOME) e che supporta MicroPython. Oltre a InfiniTime e Malila, per PineTime sono in sviluppo anche firmware basati sulle piattaforme Zephyr, Mynewt OS, MbedOS, TinyGo, WaspOS (basato su Micropython) e PinetimeLite (una modifica avanzata del firmware InfiniTime). <\/p>\n

Tra le novit\u00e0 del progetto Pine64 si segnala l'implementazione per lo smartphone PinePhone del supporto per l'accelerazione hardware nella riproduzione video in Gstreamer tramite VPU, disponibile nel SoC Allwinner A64. Il PinePhone ora \u00e8 in grado di riprodurre video in qualit\u00e0 1080p a 30fps, utile per visualizzare video quando si collega il PinePhone a un monitor esterno. Tra le altre modifiche, si menziona la preparazione di un'immagine con firmware basato su Arch Linux ARM e sul desktop KDE Plasma Mobile 5.22.
