Durante la conferenza GUADEC 2021, \u00e8 stato presentato Cambalache, un nuovo strumento per la rapida sviluppo di interfacce per GTK 3 e GTK 4, che utilizza la paridgima MVC e la filosofia della priorit\u00e0 del modello dei dati. Una delle differenze pi\u00f9 evidenti rispetto a Glade \u00e8 il supporto per la gestione di pi\u00f9 interfacce utente all'interno di un unico progetto. Il codice del progetto \u00e8 scritto in Python e rilasciato sotto licenza GPLv2. <\/p>\n

Per garantire il supporto di pi\u00f9 versioni di GTK, la formazione dell'ambiente di lavoro avviene attraverso l'utilizzo del backend Broadway, che permette di visualizzare l'output della libreria GTK in una finestra del browser web. Il processo principale di Cambalache fornisce un collegamento con WebKit WebView, nel quale l'output dal processo Merengue, responsabile del rendering dell'interfaccia creato dall'utente, viene trasmesso tramite Broadway. L'interfaccia pu\u00f2 essere generata utilizzando GTK 3 o GTK 4, a seconda della versione specificata nel progetto.
