\u00c8 stata scoperta una vulnerabilit\u00e0 in Glibc (CVE-2021-38604) che consente di provocare il crash dei processi di sistema inviando un messaggio appositamente formattato tramite l'API delle POSIX message queues. Nei vari distribuzioni, il problema non si \u00e8 manifestato, poich\u00e9 \u00e8 presente solo nella versione 2.34, pubblicata due settimane fa. <\/p>\n

Il problema \u00e8 causato da una gestione errata dei dati NOTIFY_REMOVED nel codice mq_notify.c, che porta a dereferenziare un puntatore NULL e al crash del processo. \u00c8 interessante notare che il problema deriva da una mancanza nella correzione di un'altra vulnerabilit\u00e0 (CVE-2021-33574), risolta nella versione Glibc 2.34. Mentre la prima vulnerabilit\u00e0 era piuttosto difficile da sfruttare e richiedeva una combinazione di circostanze specifiche, l'attacco sfruttando il secondo problema \u00e8 notevolmente pi\u00f9 semplice.
