\u00c8 stato presentato il rilascio del progetto LibreELEC 10.0, che sviluppa un fork della distribuzione per la creazione di home theater OpenELEC. L'interfaccia utente \u00e8 basata sul media center Kodi. Sono stati preparati i file immagine per l'installazione su unit\u00e0 USB o schede SD (a 32 e 64 bit x86, Raspberry Pi 4, vari dispositivi basati su chip Rockchip e Amlogic). <\/p>\n

Con LibreELEC, \u00e8 possibile trasformare qualsiasi computer in un media center, facile da usare come un lettore DVD o un set-top box. Il principio fondamentale della distribuzione \u00e8 che 'tutto funziona semplicemente', e per ottenere un ambiente completamente pronto all'uso \u00e8 sufficiente caricare LibreELEC da un'unit\u00e0 flash. L'utente non deve preoccuparsi di mantenere il sistema aggiornato, poich\u00e9 la distribuzione utilizza un sistema di caricamento automatico e installazione degli aggiornamenti, attivato al collegamento alla rete globale. \u00c8 prevista la possibilit\u00e0 di espandere la funzionalit\u00e0 della distribuzione tramite un sistema di plugin, che vengono installati da un repository separato, gestito dagli sviluppatori del progetto. <\/p>\n

Nel nuovo rilascio, il media center Kodi fornito \u00e8 stato aggiornato alla versione 19.1. Il supporto per le schede Raspberry Pi 0 e 1 \u00e8 stato interrotto. A causa del lavoro non completato sulla riscrittura dei driver grafici, non sono state create versioni per Raspberry Pi 2 e 3. Ricordiamo che LibreELEC \u00e8 stato creato a seguito di un conflitto tra il maintainer di OpenELEC e un ampio gruppo di sviluppatori. La distribuzione non utilizza basi di pacchetti di altre distribuzioni ed \u00e8 basata su sviluppi propri. Oltre alle funzionalit\u00e0 standard di Kodi, la distribuzione offre una serie di funzionalit\u00e0 aggiuntive mirate a semplificare al massimo l'uso. Ad esempio, \u00e8 in fase di sviluppo un componente di configurazione speciale che consente di impostare le opzioni di connessione di rete, gestire le impostazioni degli schermi LCD, abilitare o disabilitare l'installazione automatica degli aggiornamenti. <\/p>\n

La distribuzione supporta funzionalit\u00e0 come l'uso del telecomando (\u00e8 possibile gestire sia tramite porta infrarossa che tramite Bluetooth), l'organizzazione della condivisione dei file (integrata server<\/a> Samba), client BitTorrent integrato Transmission, ricerca automatica e connessione di unit\u00e0 locali ed esterne.
