Tutte le operazioni specifiche con lo stack grafico di Linux sono state ridotte a uno strato astratto Ozone facilmente sostituibile. Fino ad ora, il supporto per Ozone \u00e8 stato fornito come opzione, mentre per impostazione predefinita si applicava il vecchio backend, rigidamente legato a X11. I lavori di traduzione delle build da X11 all'uso dello strato Ozone sono iniziati nel 2020, e per gli utenti, l'attivazione graduale del backend Ozone\/X11 come predefinito \u00e8 iniziata con il rilascio di Chrome 92.
