Sono passati 30 anni da quando \u00e8 stata rilasciata la prima versione pubblica del kernel Linux. Il kernel 0.01 aveva una dimensione di 62 KB in formato compresso, includeva 88 file e conteneva 10239 righe di codice sorgente. Secondo Linus Torvalds, il momento della pubblicazione del kernel 0.01 \u00e8 la vera data del 30\u00b0 anniversario del progetto. <\/p>\n

Linus ha scritto nella mailing list degli sviluppatori del kernel Linux: <\/p>\n

\u00c8 solo un'osservazione casuale, affinch\u00e9 le persone sappiano che oggi \u00e8 effettivamente una delle date principali del 30\u00b0 anniversario: la versione 0.01 \u00e8 stata caricata il 17 settembre 1991. <\/p>\n

Il rilascio 0.01 non \u00e8 mai stato proclamato pubblicamente e ho scritto solo a una decina di persone in privato (e non ho conservato le vecchie email di quei giorni), quindi non ci sono registrazioni effettive. Sospetto che l'unica informazione sulla data si trovi nel tar-file stesso di Linux-0.01. <\/p>\n

Purtroppo, le date in questo file tar \u2014 sono date delle ultime modifiche, non della creazione effettiva del file tar, ma sembra che sia accaduto intorno alle 19:30 (ora finlandese), quindi l'anniversario esatto \u00e8 stato tecnicamente qualche ora fa. <\/p>\n

Ho pensato che valesse la pena menzionarlo, poich\u00e9, nonostante la mancata proclamazione, in molti sensi questa \u00e8 la vera data del 30\u00b0 anniversario del codice effettivo. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n
