\u00c8 disponibile il rilascio del gestore di finestre leggero IceWM 2.8. IceWM offre una gestione completa tramite combinazioni di tasti, la possibilit\u00e0 di utilizzare desktop virtuali, barre delle applicazioni e menu delle applicazioni. Il gestore di finestre \u00e8 configurabile tramite un file di configurazione piuttosto semplice e consente l'uso di temi. Sono disponibili applet integrate per il monitoraggio della CPU, della memoria e del traffico. Sono in fase di sviluppo diversi GUI esterni per le impostazioni, le implementazioni del desktop e i menu di editor. Il codice \u00e8 scritto in C++ e distribuito sotto licenza GPLv2. <\/p>\n

Nel nuovo rilascio, \u00e8 stata aumentata la prestazione e la scalabilit\u00e0 del menu con l'elenco delle finestre. \u00c8 stata aggiunta la supporto per il raggruppamento delle finestre di applicazioni identiche. Nello strumento icesh, \u00e8 stata migliorata la filtrazione per la propriet\u00e0 WM_CLASS ed \u00e8 stata aggiunta l'opzione \u00ab+group\u00bb e \u00ab+Class\u00bb. \u00c8 stata aumentata l'efficienza nella gestione degli sfondi del desktop, garantendo la rimozione dell'immagine originale per ridurre il consumo di memoria.
