Il nuovo modello Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W \u00e8 realizzato nel medesimo formato miniaturizzato (65 x 30 x 5 mm), ovvero circa due volte pi\u00f9 piccolo rispetto al classico Raspberry Pi. Le vendite sono iniziate solamente nel Regno Unito, nell'Unione Europea, negli Stati Uniti, in Canada e a Hong Kong, mentre le spedizioni verso altri paesi saranno aperte man mano che il modulo wireless superer\u00e0 le certificazioni. Il prezzo del Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W \u00e8 di 15 dollari USA (per confronto, il costo della scheda Raspberry Pi Zero W \u00e8 di 10 dollari, mentre il Raspberry Pi Zero costa 5 dollari; la produzione delle schede pi\u00f9 economiche continuer\u00e0).      <center><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\u00c8 stata presentata la nuova scheda Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/ca216de7cea17f9586b299bddfcd483c.jpg\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><\/center>    <\/p>\n<p>La principale novit\u00e0 del nuovo modello Raspberry Pi Zero \u00e8 l'adozione del SoC Broadcom BCM2710A1, simile a quello utilizzato nelle schede Raspberry Pi 3 (nel precedente modello Zero era presente il SoC Broadcom BCM2835, come nel primo Raspberry Pi). Rispetto al Raspberry Pi 3, per ridurre il consumo energetico, la frequenza del processore \u00e8 stata abbassata da 1.4GHz a 1GHz. Secondo il test multi-thread sysbench, l'aggiornamento del SoC ha consentito di aumentare le prestazioni della scheda di 5 volte (il nuovo SoC utilizza una CPU quad-core a 64 bit Arm Cortex-A53 al posto del singolo core a 32 bit ARM11 ARM1176JZF-S).          <\/p>\n<p>Come nella versione precedente, il Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W offre 512MB di RAM, porta Mini-HDMI, due porte Micro-USB (USB 2.0 con OTG e porta di alimentazione), slot microSD, connettore GPIO a 40 pin (non saldato), uscite per video composito e fotocamera (CSI-2). La scheda \u00e8 dotata di un chip wireless che supporta Wi-Fi 802.11 b\/g\/n (2.4GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 e Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). Per il superamento della certificazione FCC e la protezione da interferenze esterne, il chip wireless nella nuova scheda \u00e8 coperto da un involucro metallico.     <\/p>\n<p>Il GPU integrato nel SoC supporta OpenGL ES 1.1 e 2.0, e fornisce strumenti per accelerare la decodifica video nei formati H.264 e MPEG-4 con qualit\u00e0 1080p30, oltre alla codifica in formato H.264, ampliando cos\u00ec le possibilit\u00e0 di utilizzo della scheda in vari dispositivi multimediali e sistemi per la casa intelligente. Sfortunatamente, la dimensione della memoria RAM \u00e8 limitata a 512 MB e non pu\u00f2 essere ampliata a causa di vincoli fisici delle dimensioni della scheda. Nella prima generazione della scheda, la memoria era collocata in uno strato aggiuntivo sopra il chip SoC, realizzata tramite tecnologia PoP (package-on-package), ma nei nuovi chip Broadcom non \u00e8 stato possibile applicare questa soluzione a causa dell'aumento delle dimensioni del SoC. Per risolvere il problema, \u00e8 stato sviluppato congiuntamente con Broadcom un'opzione speciale del chip, in cui la memoria \u00e8 stata integrata nel SoC.   <center><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\u00c8 stata presentata la nuova scheda Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/82c45731c60677515fc651a443c9efe7.jpg\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><\/center>    <\/p>\n<p>Un altro problema \u00e8 stato l'aumento del calore generato a causa dell'uso di un processore pi\u00f9 potente. Il problema \u00e8 stato risolto aggiungendo sulla scheda strati spessi di rame per dissipare e disperdere il calore dal processore. Il peso della scheda \u00e8 aumentato notevolmente a causa di ci\u00f2, ma l'approccio \u00e8 stato considerato efficace e si \u00e8 rivelato sufficiente per evitare il surriscaldamento durante l'esecuzione di un test di stress illimitato di algebra lineare LINPACK a una temperatura ambiente di 20 gradi.    <\/p>\n<p>Tra i dispositivi concorrenti, la scheda cinese Orange Pi Zero Plus2 \u00e8 la pi\u00f9 simile alla Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W, con dimensioni di 46&#215;48 mm e un prezzo di 35 dollari. Questa scheda viene fornita con 512 MB di RAM e un chip Allwinner H3. La scheda Orange Pi Zero Plus2 \u00e8 dotata di 8 GB di EMMC Flash, di una porta HDMI completa, di uno slot per schede TF, USB OTG e contatti per il collegamento di un microfono, di un ricevitore IR e di due porte USB aggiuntive. \u00c8 alimentata da un processore quad-core Allwinner H5 (Cortex-A53) con GPU Mali Mali450 oppure da un Allwinner H3 (Cortex-A7) con GPU Mali400MP2. Invece del connettore GPIO a 40 pin, \u00e8 fornito un connettore accorciato a 26 pin, compatibile con Raspberry Pi B+. \u00c8 disponibile anche una scheda meno potente, la Orange Pi Zero 2, dotata di
