Nel catalogo PyPI (Python Package Index) sono state individuate tre librerie contenenti codice dannoso. Prima di essere rimosse, queste librerie erano state scaricate quasi 15.000 volte. <\/p>\n

I pacchetti dpp-client (10194 download) e dpp-client1234 (1536 download) sono stati distribuiti da febbraio e includevano codice per inviare il contenuto delle variabili ambientali, che, ad esempio, potevano includere chiavi di accesso, token o password per sistemi di integrazione continua o ambienti cloud come AWS. I pacchetti inviavano anche a un host esterno un elenco con il contenuto delle cartelle , e .

Il pacchetto aws-login0tool (3042 download) \u00e8 stato pubblicato nel repository PyPI il 1\u00b0 dicembre e includeva codice per caricare e avviare un'applicazione trojan per prendere il controllo degli host in esecuzione su Windows. Nella scelta del nome del pacchetto, si \u00e8 tenuto conto che i tasti 0<\/span> e -<\/span> sono vicini e che c'\u00e8 la probabilit\u00e0 che lo sviluppatore scriva aws-login0tool<\/span> invece di aws-login-tool<\/span>.

Sono stati individuati pacchetti problematici durante un semplice esperimento in cui, utilizzando lo strumento Bandersnatch, \u00e8 stata scaricata una parte dei pacchetti PyPI (circa 200.000 su 330.000 pacchetti nel repository).
