Il progetto rappresenta la base per lo sviluppo delle idee di programmazione in lingua russa, migliorando il comfort nell'uso del cirillico e della lingua russa, testando vari approcci alle questioni di terminologia e alla profondit\u00e0 della traduzione. A differenza dei linguaggi di programmazione gi\u00e0 esistenti in lingua russa, come 1C, Kumir e Glagol, il progetto \u00e8 orientato a fornire un sistema operativo completamente in lingua russa, in cui \u00e8 stato tradotto anche il codice di avvio, il kernel, il compilatore e i driver. Oltre alla localizzazione del sistema, tra le differenze rispetto ad A2 si annoverano un debugger passo-passo, la cross-compilazione, una realizzazione funzionante del tipo SET64, la correzione degli errori e l'espansione della documentazione.

Il sistema operativo A2, utilizzato come base, appartiene alla categoria dei sistemi operativi a uso didattico e industriale per un singolo utente ed \u00e8 progettato per microcontrollori. Il sistema offre un'interfaccia grafica multi-finestra, \u00e8 dotato di uno stack di rete e di una libreria crittografica, supporta la gestione automatica della memoria e pu\u00f2 eseguire compiti in modalit\u00e0 soft real-time. Anzich\u00e9 un interprete dei comandi, il sistema fornisce un ambiente incorporato per l'esecuzione del codice in Active Oberon, funzionando senza strati superflui. <\/p>\n

Per gli sviluppatori \u00e8 disponibile un ambiente di sviluppo integrato, un editor di moduli, un compilatore e strumenti di debug. L'affidabilit\u00e0 del codice pu\u00f2 essere garantita tramite verifica formale dei moduli e capacit\u00e0 integrate di unit testing. Il codice sorgente dell'intero sistema consiste in circa 700.000 righe (a titolo di confronto, il kernel Linux 5.13 include 29 milioni di righe di codice). Per il sistema sono stati sviluppati applicativi come un lettore multimediale, un visualizzatore di immagini, un sintonizzatore TV, un editor di codice, un server http, compressori di archivi, un messaggero e un server VNC per accesso remoto all'ambiente grafico. <\/p>\n

L'autore di YOS, Denis Valeryevich Budyak, ha tenuto una conferenza in cui ha messo in evidenza la sicurezza dei sistemi informatici, in particolare di Linux.
