Barry Kauler, fondatore del progetto Puppy Linux, ha pubblicato una distribuzione sperimentale di EasyOS 3.2, in cui \u00e8 stato tentato un connubio tra le tecnologie di Puppy Linux e l'uso dell'isolamento dei container per avviare i componenti del sistema. Ogni applicazione, cos\u00ec come il desktop stesso, pu\u00f2 essere eseguito in contenitori separati, utilizzando il proprio meccanismo di Easy Containers per l'isolamento. La gestione della distribuzione avviene tramite un insieme di configuratori grafici sviluppati dal progetto. La dimensione dell'immagine di avvio \u00e8 di 580 MB. <\/p>\n

Tra le altre caratteristiche della distribuzione, si pu\u00f2 notare il funzionamento predefinito con diritti di root, con un reset dei privilegi all'avvio di ogni applicazione, poich\u00e9 EasyOS \u00e8 posizionata come un sistema Live per un singolo utente (\u00e8 disponibile, su richiesta, la possibilit\u00e0 di lavorare con un utente non privilegiato 'spot'). La distribuzione viene installata in una sottodirectory separata (il sistema \u00e8 ospitato in \/releases\/easy-3.2, i dati dell'utente sono salvati nella directory \/home e i contenitori aggiuntivi con le applicazioni si trovano nella directory \/containers) e pu\u00f2 coesistere con altri dati sull'archivio. \u00c8 possibile criptare singole sottodirectory (ad esempio, \/home) e installare meta-pacchetti in formato SFS, che sono immagini montabili con Squashfs, combinando diversi pacchetti normali.

Nella fornitura di base sono incluse applicazioni come SeaMonkey (nel menu Internet \u00e8 presente anche un pulsante per l'installazione rapida di Firefox), LibreOffice, Scribus, Inkscape, GIMP, mtPaint, Dia, Gpicview, l'editor di testo Geany, il gestore delle password Fagaros, il sistema di gestione delle finanze personali HomeBank, il wiki personale DidiWiki, l'organizzatore Osmo, il gestore di progetti Planner, il sistema di note Notecase, Pigin, il lettore musicale Audacious, i lettori multimediali Celluloid, VLC e MPV, il vide Editor LiVES, e il sistema di streaming OBS Studio.
