Il progetto OpenSSL ha annunciato il supporto a lungo termine per la versione 3.0 della sua libreria crittografica, con il rilascio di aggiornamenti programmato per i prossimi 5 anni a partire dalla data di rilascio, ossia fino al 7 settembre 2026. La precedente versione LTS 1.1.1 sar\u00e0 mantenuta fino all'11 settembre 2023. <\/p>\n

In aggiunta, si segnala il rilascio da parte del progetto OpenBSD della versione portabile del pacchetto LibreSSL 3.5.0, che sviluppa un fork di OpenSSL con l'obiettivo di garantire un livello di sicurezza pi\u00f9 elevato. Tra le novit\u00e0 della nuova versione spicca il porting dal supporto OpenSSL per RFC 3779 (estensioni X.509 per IP addresses<\/a> sistemi autonomi) e per il meccanismo di Certificate Transparency (un registro pubblico indipendente di tutti i certificati emessi e revocati, che consente di effettuare audit indipendenti su tutte le modifiche e le azioni delle autorit\u00e0 di certificazione, permettendo di tracciare immediatamente eventuali tentativi di generazione occulta di record falsi). \u00c8 stata notevolmente migliorata la compatibilit\u00e0 con OpenSSL 1.1 e sono stati utilizzati nomi di cifratura identici a quelli di OpenSSL per TLSv1.3. Molte funzioni sono state convertite per utilizzare calloc(). Una significativa aggiunta di nuove chiamate \u00e8 stata fatta in libssl e libcrypto.
