Per l'implementazione in Fedora Linux 37 \u00e8 previsto l'adozione di una raccomandazione che suggerisce agli sviluppatori di interrompere la compilazione dei pacchetti per l'architettura i686, se la necessit\u00e0 di tali pacchetti \u00e8 dubbia o comporta un significativo dispendio di tempo o risorse. La raccomandazione non si applica ai pacchetti utilizzati come dipendenze in altri pacchetti o impiegati nel contesto di \u00abmultilib\u00bb per garantire l'esecuzione di programmi a 32 bit in ambienti a 64 bit. <\/p>\n

La modifica non \u00e8 ancora stata esaminata dal comitato FESCo (Fedora Engineering Steering Committee), responsabile della parte tecnica dello sviluppo della distribuzione Fedora. Ricordiamo che la creazione dei principali repository e pacchetti kernel per l'architettura i686 in Fedora \u00e8 stata interrotta gi\u00e0 nel 2019, sono stati lasciati solo i repository multilib per ambienti x86_64, che sono attivamente utilizzati in Wine e Steam per eseguire build a 32 bit di giochi Windows.
