Gli sviluppatori del sistema operativo ReactOS, mirato a garantire la compatibilit\u00e0 con i programmi e i driver di Microsoft Windows, hanno annunciato la disponibilit\u00e0 di un insieme iniziale di patch per il caricamento del progetto su sistemi multiprocessore con modalit\u00e0 SMP attivata. Le modifiche per supportare SMP non sono ancora incluse nella base di codice principale di ReactOS e richiedono ulteriori sviluppi, ma il semplice fatto che sia possibile avviare con la modalit\u00e0 SMP \u00e8 considerato un importante traguardo nello sviluppo del progetto (fino ad ora, una delle principali limitazioni di ReactOS \u00e8 stata l'uso di un solo core della CPU durante il funzionamento). <\/p>\n

Il lavoro di implementazione di SMP in ReactOS ha avuto un impatto positivo sulla stabilit\u00e0 generale del sistema, poich\u00e9 ha permesso di identificare e risolvere molti errori correlati nel codice legato alla gestione dei blocchi e alla parallelizzazione dell'esecuzione dei processi. Tra le modifiche correlate viene anche segnalata la possibilit\u00e0 di avviare il gestore attivit\u00e0 di Windows XP per visualizzare il carico sui processori.
