Gli sviluppatori del sistema operativo ReactOS, progettato per garantire la compatibilit\u00e0 con i programmi e i driver di Microsoft Windows, hanno annunciato la disponibilit\u00e0 di un set iniziale di patch per avviare il progetto su sistemi multiprocessore con la modalit\u00e0 SMP abilitata. Le modifiche per supportare SMP non sono ancora integrate nel codice principale di ReactOS e necessitano di ulteriori elaborazioni, ma il semplice fatto che sia possibile avviare con la modalit\u00e0 SMP \u00e8 considerato un risultato importante nello sviluppo del progetto (fino ad ora una delle principali limitazioni di ReactOS era l'uso di un solo core CPU durante il funzionamento). <\/p>\n

Il lavoro sull'implementazione di SMP in ReactOS ha avuto un impatto positivo sulla stabilit\u00e0 generale del sistema, poich\u00e9 ha permesso di identificare e correggere molti errori associati nel codice legato alla gestione dei blocchi e alla parallelizzazione dell'esecuzione dei processi.
