\u00c8 stato rilasciato il pacchetto di utilit\u00e0 per la compressione dei dati gzip 1.12. Nella nuova versione \u00e8 stata corretta una vulnerabilit\u00e0 nell'utilit\u00e0 zgrep, che permetteva, durante l'elaborazione di nomi di file appositamente formattati contenenti due o pi\u00f9 caratteri di nuova riga, di sovrascrivere file arbitrari nel sistema, in base ai permessi attuali. Il problema si manifesta a partire dalla versione 1.3.10, rilasciata nel 2007. <\/p>\n

Tra le altre modifiche, si segnala la cessazione dell\u2019installazione dell\u2019utility zless su sistemi privi dell\u2019utility less, e la garanzia che l\u2019output del comando \u2018gzip -l\u2019 fornisca informazioni corrette sui file di dimensioni superiori a 4 GB (le informazioni sulla dimensione dei dati decompressi ora vengono determinate non sulla base di un campo fisso di intestazione a 32 bit, ma tramite la decompressione con un conteggio effettivo della dimensione dei dati).
