Nel linguaggio di programmazione Zig sono state adottate modifiche che consentono al compilatore Zig stage2, scritto in Zig, di compilarsi autonomamente (stage3), rendendo questo linguaggio autosufficiente (self-hosting). Si prevede che questo compilatore verr\u00e0 proposto come predefinito nella prossima versione 0.10.0. Lo stage2 \u00e8 ancora incompleto, in quanto manca il supporto per il controllo runtime, ci sono differenze nella semantica del linguaggio, ecc. <\/p>\n

La modifica implementata permetter\u00e0 di aggiungere il supporto per il \u00abhot code swapping\u00bb durante l'esecuzione (cio\u00e8 senza interruzioni), di ridurre parzialmente il vincolo su LLVM e C++ (semplificando cos\u00ec il processo di porting su nuove architetture) e di ridurre drasticamente i tempi di compilazione dei programmi, accelerando anche lo sviluppo del compilatore.
