Il codice del framework \u00e8 scritto in linguaggio C e distribuito con licenza Apache 2.0, con un'eccezione che consente il collegamento con codice sotto licenze GPLv2 e LGPLv2.    <\/p>\n<p>Tra le modifiche nella nuova versione:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00c8 stata aggiunta il supporto completo per la localizzazione. I set di localizzazione di base sono forniti per le lingue inglese, francese, tedesca, italiana, giapponese e spagnola.\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00c8 stato migliorato il supporto per la piattaforma macOS. \u00c8 stata fornita integrazione con il menu globale superiore di macOS. \u00c8 stata aggiunta la possibilit\u00e0 di eseguire applicazioni di stampa in modalit\u00e0 <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/prohoster.info\/it\/server\/dts-los-angeles\/\"   title=\"server\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"3815\">server<\/a>.\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00c8 stato aggiunto il supporto per l'interpolazione nella stampa di immagini JPEG o quando si utilizza la funzione papplJobFilterImage con l'anti-aliasing attivato.\n<li class=\"l\"> Sono state implementate funzionalit\u00e0 aggiuntive per il protocollo IPP (Internet Printing Protocol) e sono state aggiunte nuove API: papplDeviceGetSupplies per determinare il livello di inchiostro e toner, papplSystemAddEvent\/papplSubscriptionXxx per gestire le notifiche IPP, papplSystemGet\/SetMaxClients per limitare il numero di client. Nelle funzioni papplPrinterDisable e papplPrinterEnable \u00e8 stato aggiunto il supporto per l'attributo IPP \u00abprinter-is-accepting-jobs\u00bb.\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00c8 stata aggiunta la possibilit\u00e0 di specificare dimensioni personalizzate per i fogli in millimetri.\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00c8 stato aggiunto il supporto per le librerie OpenSSL e LibreSSL.\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00c8 stato aggiornato il codice USB Gadget utilizzato per creare dispositivi USB client e per la simulazione software di dispositivi USB.\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00c8 stata effettuata l'associazione dell'utente con la directory dello spool di stampa utilizzato di default.\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00c8 stata migliorata la compatibilit\u00e0 con la libreria libcups3.      <\/ul>\n<p>Il framework PAPPL \u00e8 stato originariamente sviluppato per supportare il sistema di stampa LPrint e i driver Gutenprint, ma pu\u00f2 essere utilizzato per implementare il supporto per qualsiasi stampante e driver nella stampa su sistemi desktop, server e integrati. Si prevede che PAPPL possa contribuire ad accelerare la diffusione della tecnologia IPP Everywhere, sostituendo i classici driver e semplificando il supporto per altri software basati su IPP, come AirPrint e Mopria.    <\/p>\n<p>PAPPL include un'implementazione integrata del protocollo IPP Everywhere, che fornisce strumenti per accedere alle stampanti localmente o in rete e per gestire le richieste di stampa. IPP Everywhere funziona in modalit\u00e0 senza driver (\u00abdriverless\u00bb) e, a differenza dei driver PPD, non richiede la creazione di file di configurazione statici. \u00c8 supportata l'interazione con le stampanti sia direttamente tramite connessione locale USB, sia attraverso la rete utilizzando i protocolli AppSocket e JetDirect. I dati possono essere inviati alla stampante nei formati JPEG, PNG, PWG Raster, Apple Raster e \u00abraw\u00bb.      <\/p>\n<p>PAPPL pu\u00f2 essere compilato per sistemi operativi compatibili con POSIX, tra cui Linux, macOS, QNX e VxWorks. Tra le dipendenze si segnalano Avahi (per il supporto di mDNS\/DNS-SD), CUPS, GNU TLS, JPEGLIB, LIBPNG, LIBPAM (per l'autenticazione) e ZLIB.
