Il sistema AlmaLinux \u00e8 stato sviluppato da CloudLinux in risposta alla cessazione prematura del supporto per CentOS 8 da parte di Red Hat (il rilascio di aggiornamenti per CentOS 8 \u00e8 stato interrotto alla fine del 2021, e non nel 2029 come inizialmente previsto dagli utenti).
