Gli appassionati sono riusciti a caricare con successo il kernel Linux 5.18 sui computer tablet Apple iPad, basati sui chip ARM A7 e A8. Al momento, il lavoro \u00e8 limitato all'adattamento di Linux per i dispositivi iPad Air, iPad Air 2 e alcuni iPad mini, ma non ci sono problemi fondamentali nell'applicare le scoperte anche ad altri dispositivi con chip Apple A7 e A8, come iPhone 5S e HomePod, prodotti nel 2013-2014. Attualmente, lo sviluppo \u00e8 ancora nelle fasi iniziali, in cui \u00e8 supportato il caricamento del kernel, funzionano l'accelerazione grafica, le funzioni di rete e l'audio, ma USB e Bluetooth non funzionano ancora. Il prossimo obiettivo del progetto \u00e8 garantire il caricamento dell'ambiente utente basato sulla distribuzione postmarketOS, costruita sulla base dei pacchetti Alpine Linux, sulla libreria standard C Musl e su un insieme di strumenti BusyBox.
