Gli appassionati sono riusciti a caricare con successo il kernel Linux 5.18 sui tablet Apple iPad basati su chip ARM A7 e A8. Al momento, il lavoro \u00e8 limitato all'adattamento di Linux per i dispositivi iPad Air, iPad Air 2 e alcuni iPad mini, ma non ci sono problemi fondamentali nell'applicare i progressi a altri dispositivi con chip Apple A7 e A8, come iPhone 5S e HomePod, rilasciati nel 2013-2014.
