In rsync, l'utilit\u00e0 per la sincronizzazione dei file e il backup, \u00e8 stata individuata una vulnerabilit\u00e0 (CVE-2022-29154) che consente, quando ci si rivolge a un server rsync controllato da un attaccante, di scrivere o sovrascrivere file arbitrari nella directory di destinazione sul lato dell'utente. Potenzialmente, un attacco pu\u00f2 avvenire anche a seguito di un intervento (MITM) nel traffico in transito tra il client e il server legittimo. Il problema \u00e8 stato risolto nella versione di test di Rsync 3.2.5pre1. <\/p>\n

La vulnerabilit\u00e0 ricorda i problemi passati in SCP ed \u00e8 causata dal fatto che il server decide la posizione del file da scrivere, mentre il client non verifica correttamente ci\u00f2 che il server restituisce rispetto a quanto richiesto, permettendo server<\/a> di scrivere file non inizialmente richiesti dal client. Ad esempio, nel caso in cui un utente copi file nella propria directory home, server<\/a> pu\u00f2 restituire invece dei file richiesti file con i nomi .bash_aliases o .ssh\/authorized_keys, che saranno salvati nella directory home dell'utente.
