Come motivazione viene citato il piano di rimuovere ReiserFS dal kernel principale entro il 2025, la stagnazione nel supporto di questo file system e la mancanza di funzionalit\u00e0 di tolleranza ai guasti offerte dai file system moderni per proteggere dai danni in caso di arresto anomalo o compromissione.    <\/p>\n<p>\u00c8 stato proposto di rimuovere immediatamente il pacchetto reiserfs dal repository di openSUSE Tumbleweed e disattivare l'implementazione di ReiserFS a livello kernel di Linux. Per gli utenti con partizioni ReiserFS, si consiglia di utilizzare un frontend FUSE per reiserfs incluso in GRUB. \u00c8 interessante notare che nel 2006 Jeff Mahoney \u00e8 stato l'iniziatore della cessazione dell'uso di ReiserFS in openSUSE di default.
