Come motivazione viene citato il piano di rimuovere ReiserFS dal nucleo principale entro il 2025, la stagnazione nella manutenzione di questo file system e l'assenza di funzionalit\u00e0 di resilienza offerte dai file system moderni per proteggere da danni in caso di interruzione improvvisa o compromissione.    <\/p>\n<p>Si propone di rimuovere immediatamente il pacchetto reiserfs dal repository openSUSE Tumbleweed e di disabilitare l'implementazione di ReiserFS a livello di kernel Linux. Per coloro che hanno partizioni con ReiserFS, si suggerisce di utilizzare un frontend FUSE per reiserfs incluso in GRUB. \u00c8 interessante notare che nel 2006 Jeff Mahoney era stato l'innovatore della cessazione dell'uso di ReiserFS in openSUSE di default.
