Cloudflare ha pubblicato i codici sorgente della propria versione del proxy PgBouncer, utilizzato per mantenere un pool di connessioni aperte al database PostgreSQL. PgBouncer consente di gestire l'accesso delle applicazioni a PostgreSQL attraverso connessioni gi\u00e0 stabilite, evitando l'esecuzione continua di operazioni dispendiose per l'apertura e la chiusura delle connessioni e riducendo il numero di connessioni attive a PostgreSQL. <\/p>\n

Le modifiche proposte nel fork mirano a una maggiore isolamento delle risorse a livello di singole DB (carico della CPU, consumo di memoria e intensit\u00e0 di I\/O) e a garantire un limite sul numero di connessioni legate all'utente e al pool di connessioni. Ad esempio, nel fork pubblicato \u00e8 stata implementata la possibilit\u00e0 di limitare la dimensione del pool di connessioni per ciascun utente, funzionante correttamente in configurazioni con autenticazione basata su host (HBA, host-based authentication).
